He said, “I have heard about 12 shots. In my head I felt that it is construction at first, until I saw me and saw people running from the union towards my direction, and then I heard another 12 or 15 shots, so I started running away from there,” he said.

Florida village Ron Desantis said the state law was responding to enforcement shooting. “Our prayers are with our FSU family,” desntis tweeted.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said in a statement that it is “actively engaged in the incident in the FSU premises, and we will update the public with more information as soon as possible.”
The FBI said that Jacksonville and Talhasi resident agencies are on the spot and are assisting local law enforcement partners. ATF Tampa also said that he was on the spot and assisting local police enforcement.
White House press secretary Karolin Levitt said that President Trump has been informed on shooting and the White House is actively monitoring the situation. Mr. Trump made a brief comment about it on Thursday afternoon.

According to Gun Violence Archive, in 2025 so far, the US has taken 80 collective firing in Florida State University, including the most recent incident. This is more than five incidents per week. In all of 2024, there were 502 incidents, slightly less than 10 incidents per week.
Gun violence collection defines a collective shoots as an event where four or more people are shot or killed, including the shooter.
