Apple on Wednesday announced the release of the iPhone 16E in the fourth edition of the company’s low expensive smartphone line, as CEO Tim Cook teased the unveiling a week ago. The iPhone 16E has a large screen, uses face ID, has USB-C charging ports and includes a 48-megapixel rear camera. The smartphone also debuts Apple’s first cellular modem, Apple C1.

The iPhone 16E moves with the A18 chip of Apple, which allows for Apple Intelligence. There are some popular Apple Intelligence features that will be available on new smartphones:

- Natural language search: Find photos and videos in the photo app with details.
- Image playground: Create details, concepts or people from the photo app.
- Genmoji: Make custom emoji.

- Chat GPT: Artificial Intelligence software has been integrated for free in phone writing tools and Siri
External action button
The iPhone 16E has an external action button, which allows users to reach several tools with one click. The button settings are optimized in the app, allowing users to use features such as cameras or flashlight. The action button allows users to switch between ring and silent notification mode and activate voice memo, focus, translate, magnifier and Shazam.
Universal charging port
The iPhone 16E has a USB-C charging port compared to Apple’s old Lightning Port. This is legally required by the European Union Law.
