The Trump administration is delaying an upcoming public meeting of an independent panel of experts who recommends the disease control and prevention centers on vaccines.
The meeting was slated as the first meeting of the Advisory Committee on vaccination practices under the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Junior, whose department includes CDC.

Doctors and public health leaders are closely looking at the Tex of the Vaccine Committee, including 19 voting members, Under Secretary Kennedy as it is important for CDC’s vaccine policy.
The committee makes recommendations for the agency’s vaccine schedule for children and adults. The panel also helps determine which vaccines are covered by health insurance and vaccine for Children’s programs, which provide free vaccines to eligible children.
NPR contacted several committee members for their response to postpone
The meeting was scheduled to run on 26โ28 February, but now HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon confirmed the NPR on Thursday, “confirmed the NPR citing the need to adjust public comments before the meeting. “
A written public comment period for the meeting was scheduled to open on 3 February and run through 17 February, according to the notice of the meeting Federal register. During the meeting, public members also get an opportunity to speak.
With direct knowledge, a current CDC employee told NPR that the CDC employee was asking HHS to open public comments from 3 February, but was not allowed to do so. The person requested oblivion as they are not authorized to speak publicly. Other subjects in the agenda of the late February meeting included discussions and votes related to vaccines for HPV, RSV, Influenza and Lime Diseases.

Andrew Pavia said, “I am very worried that cancellation of the upcoming meeting is part of a step to hobby ACIP through administrative means.” “I think the excuse given is dissatisfied. Unstable, it was because there was not enough time for public comments, but HHS chose not to open the comment period.”
HHS ‘Nixon said that the committee’s work groups have been scheduled this month and it will “present in an upcoming meeting.”
It is not clear when the meeting will be held. The website for the vaccine committee says that it is “postponed, date TBA”.

The delay comes on the heels of a new executive order from President Trump, which is calling for the eradication of some federal advisory committees and finished on this basis for the list to be prepared in the next 30 days of other committees. They should go that they are unnecessary.
Some are worrying about the already canceled meeting.
