The recurrence of the conference changed the landscape of the college basketball in 2024–25, and while the affiliation has changed, expectations and traditional powers remained the same.
Despite a recent pair of stumbles, defending champion South Carolina is still exceptional and favorite once again. Juju Watkins is a star and is reaching the USC Heights, the program has not been in more than 40 years. Trojan with UCLA, now in Big Ten.
Texas and Oklahoma have improved SEC. Notre Dame Paes as expected to ACC, and Hannah Hidalgo remains a star and threatens opponents on both ends of the floor.
With the selection Sunday in less than a month, NCAA tournament dialects will now be provoked heavy for power 4 conferences. But to what extent? Which of the four leagues in 2024-25 has been the best, and which gives the most reverse to Postsen? We rank four best conferences in Women’s College Basketball.

4. Big 12
Estimated dialects: 7
Average seed: 6.0
Non -winner win percentage: .775
Conference net ranking: 4
Thanks to the emergence of the TCU, the continuous continuity of the Cenus kingdom and a stunning weather from the state of Oklahoma has been managed by the SEC of SEC of Texas and Oklahoma. This is not to say that both have not been remembered – this ranking will have a chance to be high with them – but it is not doom and sadness in Big 12.
Give Iowa State Credit to schedule the best programs in the country. Unfortunately, the cyclones lost every important non -gir -the -game sports, including television blowouts nationally for Uconn and South Carolina. A prince Big 12 favorite, they are now hanging on an NCAA tournament berth.
Utah first had to adjust to a new conference and then lost his two -week coach in the season when Lynn Roberts accepted the job of Los Angeles Sparks. Associate head coach Gavin Peterson extended a seat on the bench and Uuts did not miss a beat, yet running to win the regular-session title. The presence of the fourth consecutive NCAA tournament is assured.
However, Utah, PAC -12 is the only program in this most recent expansion of schools, or the previous addition of BEU and former AAC teams, which has helped Big 12. The conference is now deeper only in number. Colorado and Arizona are bubble teams this season. The remaining tops are fodder for the most top seven teams and will struggle to reach any postsen tournament.

3. ACC
Estimated dialects: 9
Average seed: 5.6
Non -winner win percentage: .754
Conference net ranking: 3
Variety on top has helped ACC in the last few sessions. Notre Dame made the last fours, faced a couple of thin years and now returned to the national title contenders. Louisville was the end of the last decade and at the beginning of this one was standard carriers. Virginia Tech Liz Kitle-Jorgia was the aristocratic class in Era Era. The State State took the torch of the conference in the last four seasons. Kara Lawson returned Duke in a dispute for League Crown this year after a stable reconstruction. And even a program has given a way to go to the next place on top, in those programs, feasible NCAA tournaments and sweet 16 threats have been faced.
Like Big 12, the new addition has added very little couple to ACC. The Stanford arrived at the worst time for the program and has the worst weather since the first retired Tara Vanderever of the retired mythological Tara Wandarvers on the sideline in 1985-86. The AAC did not have a contenders even before joining the SMU ACC. Cal has been a pleasant surprise and Charmin Smith should be at the conference and at the national level on the list of both years, but Bears are likely to finish seventh or eighth in the league with similar NCAA tournament seeds.
Irish, Wolfpack and Blue Devils with Northern Carolina, will be all favorite for reaching the second weekend of this year’s NCAA tournament. Notre Dame, Duke and NC states still represent the last four capacities. The issue is that after ACC’s estimated nine NCAA tournament dialects, a prefix exists. All the remaining nine teams may end with .500 overall records below. ACC has a lot of nights.
Georgia Tech, Louisville and Florida state ACC depths the NCAA tournament berth, and the notre gives the Dame League a national championship capacity to land at number 3. But there is a lot of bounce or bust for the conference.

2. Big ten
Estimated dialects: 13
Average seed: 7.1
Non -winner win percentage: .840
Conference net ranking: 2
Postson’s success has removed Big Ten for some time. The League had not had a national champion since the perdue in 1999. Until Iowa’s frequent demonstrations in 2023 and 2024, Big Ten was not represented in the final four since Maryland Terrapans in 2015, the first year of TERPS at the conference. In addition to UCLA and USC, it must have come at the right time. In addition to the last two years and the Cetleen Clark-Elivated Hawkis, Big Ten has not held a serious championship contender over the years. Now it has two.
With the balloon of the conference for 18 teams, more NCAA tournament dialects were estimated – but Big Ten is about to shatter the previous record of his seven. While Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon and Washington hover near the bubbles for all weeks or near the bubbles, most of them are expected to build grounds. Big Ten will have at least 11 (and perhaps 12) teams in the field. A 13th is also possible.
The states of Michigan and Michigan are surprised this year. Kim Barns-Aricho remake her Wolverin with the youth, an unusual achievement in today’s transfer portal world, and will reach its seventh straight NCAA tournament. Robin Fralic already used the portal to complement the experienced team, and Spartons have a chance for their best session in almost a decade. Sweet 16 will have a breakdown to break, but it is something that two programs have combined to do just three times since 2006.
Maryland and Ohio State have maintained their spots between the country’s top -20 programs, but will not be selected by many people to reach the final four. Indiana and Iowa have taken steps due to continuous threats to reach bubble teams in the second and third weekends. Illinois has navigated injuries to some major players, but is not sufficiently deep to receive regional people. Nebraska, also, when last year’s Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Natalie Pots tore his ACL five games this season, there was heavy loss.
Big Ten will have the most dialects, but a sketch posts the conference on the history of history and UCLA and the USC very uncertainty around the person who makes Sweet 16 beyond the USC.

Conference net ranking: 1
Big Ten has more dialects of NCAA tournament, but any league will not have more quality seeds than SEC. And any league has three valid national titles contenders – LSU, South Carolina GameCox and Texas Longhorn – SEC -like. Quality of quality.
Six SEC teams were placed on Sunday in revelations of the initial top -16 of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, and were mentioned as two more mention. There are eight SEC teams in the top 18 to 20 in the country.
Metrix back up. They are in the top 20 of the eight SEC teams. Six are part of the top 20 of BPI. Six of the top eight teams in the pure strength of the schedule are from SEC.
Apart from Texas and Oklahoma, the competition has undoubtedly taken the competition to another level in SEC, but there is more. The programs throughout the league have increased this season or in the last few years.
Alabama is in position for its best NCAA tournament seeds of this century. Ole Miss has retained her improvement under coach Volet McFi-Mackin, a reconstruction that began to give fruit three sessions ago. Kenny Brooks quickly injected life in a Kentaki program, which was coming in continuous losing sessions. Vanderbult is about to make its second NCAA tournament in a row after eight directly disappearance – and Freshman Mikayla is one of the highest electrification scorers in Blakes, scoring more than 50 points twice in this season.
They are all potential sweet 16 teams, with Oklahoma and Tennessee, two teams that do not play in traditional SEC style, but are combined with 16–6 in quad 1 and 2 games.
It would not be surprising if the SEC produced five or six teams in Sweet 16, two in the final four and the national champion for the fourth straight year.
