Bumrah, however, displayed his confidence by gesturing them to remain calm.Hindi broadcaster Jatin Sapru observed during the telecast: “Bumrah is basically saying ‘Relax, I know my job well. I am here. You stay calm and just give me a chance.”Bumrah’s assertion proved correct when he was brought back for his third over, the 14th of Gujarat’s innings. He delivered a precise yorker to dismiss Washington Sundar, a crucial breakthrough that turned the match in Mumbai Indians’ favour.

The dismissal of Sundar was followed by Sudharsan’s wicket, leading to Gujarat Titans falling short by 20 runs and their elimination from IPL 2025. Bumrah’s exceptional bowling figures of 1/27 in four overs stood out in a match dominated by batters. The victory advanced Mumbai Indians to Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings, with Bumrah’s season tally reaching 18 wickets, establishing him as Mumbai Indians’ premier bowler in IPL 2025.
