Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Rajasthan Royals has the biggest revelation in this season. So far, after another record-breaking night for RR against Gujarat Titans, in which 14 years and 32 days old (youngest to do so) hit an incredible 35-ball century, the festival reached another high to join Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. On one post on X, the Chief Minister announced a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
Suryavanshi has been dubbed as the next ‘big cheese’ in cricket, recorded records and attracted to the choice of Sachin Tendulkar, Krishnamachari Srikanth and many others. The latter, reacting in the centenary of Suryavanshi, said, “We are witness to the rise of a phenom. The next superstar of Indian cricket is here.”
What did CM Nitish Kumar say?
In a post on X, the government official said, “Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar, who became the youngest player (14 years), who became the youngest player (14 years) to score for a century in the history of IPL. He brings glory to the team and the country in future.”
Apart from becoming the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League, his ton was made up of 93% limits (94 out of 101), yet another record for young people in terms of runs scored by borders, hitting 100.
Nitish Kumar also recalled in his post on X, how he met the crook and his father in 2024, where he wished the RR man a bright future.
Suryavanshi has been one of the few rays of hope for a relaxed RR trapped in the lower half of the table. With every passing game, a little introduction to the IPL with six off his first ball in the competition is just a precursor for what a Little man can do from the crease.
