“Now there is earthquake and ho rahi (now, I’m feeling hungry),” Animesh Kujur said after breaking the men’s 200 meter national record. An excellent run around the bend and the Federation Cup directly under a class and smooth sprinting as he was also eligible for the next month’s Asian Championship.

The 21 -year -old ‘earthquake’ did not talk about his dinner plan. Rice and lentils were their lunch hours when they reduced the national mark from 20.52 seconds to 20.40.

Now Animesh wants to become the first Indian male runner to break the 20-second barrier.

And they have got the right role model. Even as a national school level football striker, he was fascinated by Usain Bolt.

“I want to be the first athlete (from India) to run below 20 seconds,” Animesh said. “I like Bolt from the beginning. Even when I was playing football and not in athletics, I knew that Bolt was the fastest man in the world,” Animesh said.

When he opted for ‘Lightning Bolt’ currency after shining on the huge screen after official time, it did not seem to be hacking. Six-foot-two-inch sprinter has a lightness of lightness about it. He once again posed for the cameras, as a monkey was away from his back, breaking the national record at the end.

Martin Owens, Odisha Reliance Foundation in Bhubaneswar, hugged Animesh coach at the High Performance Center and shared hands before appreciating them. “It’s a pleasure to coach you,” he said.

The fastest Indian person of over 200 meters is the title who was running a gun for Animesh.

Animesh runs as well as 100 meters, and won silver at the short sprint event on Monday, stopping the clock in 10.32 seconds. However, in 2022 Amlan was not able to break the national mark set by Borghehen, playing in his mind because 200 meters is his pet event. He assisted 20.65s last year and 20.59 in one air.

“I kept thinking that this is my incident, but wonder why I was not able to break the record,” Animesh said.

However, everything came together at the Maharaja College Stadium on Thursday.

He saw 20.69 seconds in the second summer in the morning, the only sprinter going within 21 seconds. “I gave about 85 percent in that race (summer). I knew that the evening race would faster.”

Two contestants, in particular, had the pace to challenge him. The silver medalist in 100 meters, Manikanta Holighar, is strong around the bend, while Amlan is considered a good chaser in the final stages of a race.

Coach Owens’s post-respective analysis was a later analysis of coach Owens, “Mani was going to run fast, so she (Animesh) had to hang on it and run closely. Amlan was from inside. It was beautifully installed.” Even giving an inch away was not an option, Enemesh knew.

He said, “Mani is 10.2 runner (in 100 meters) and I followed him and came to my good pace,” he said.

    Make up

When Animesh was unable to break the record last year, he focused on two aspects-his beginning and speed.

But the turn is the place where he has handled it since he was a coach by Owens.

“I told him (before the race), work at the turn and rest directly. He was really smooth. When he first came to me, he could not run a good turn. If you watch the video two years ago, everything was wrong at the turn. His top-end speed is also getting better every year,” says coach.

“This (qualifying for the Asian Championships) was not in the scheme. The scheme was a World University game.”

Owens believes that Sky’s The Limit for Animesh. “We don’t know how fast he can go, when we talk about capacity we are scratching the surface.”

Animesh trains in Bhubaneswar are trained by James Hillier, director of the Athletics Program at Reliance Foundation at Reliance Foundation at Reliance Foundation in Navi Mumbai, while India’s three top-respected sprinters-Gurvindervir Singh. When all are on the four tracks, such as in the 100 meter finals, there is an expectation of a high quality race.

However, to satisfy your ‘earthquake’, Animesh needs to get more race with strong areas under its belt. Owens felt, “We need to run rapidly like 100 meters, we need to run fast.” “There is no option to walk with sharp runners.”

Animesh will later train and compete in Europe this season and “20:40 (second) will not bite it there. He also went last year and a better athlete returned.”

Although he is now making waves in the form of a sprinter, anmesh, a student at an army school in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, was in the first football. To avoid injury, he opted for athletics. In his first track and field competition, he chose a strange combination of events; 100 meters and shot put.

However, he found a clear direction when he moved to Owens during an Under -23 Championship in 2023, two years later he changed the game. “I only saw a foreign coach and asked him if he could coach me.”

Owens asked her to appear for testing, and since then, Animesh has gone from strength to strength.
