The Indian Premier League said on Thursday that Delhi Capital bowling coach Munaf Patel has been fined 25% of his match fee and has submitted a demerit point to dissolve the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday.
“Munaf Patel, bowling coach, Delhi Capital has been fined 25 percent of his match fees and he has also submitted a demerit point for the IPL code of conduct during his team’s match against Rajasthan Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday,” The IPL said that Munaf said “Munaf had accepted the match.”
Even though the statement did not go to the description of the crime of the former player, it was estimated that he was not allowed to send a player to express his message due to an argument with a match officer.
Article 2.20 involves all types of conduct which are contrary to the spirit of the game and are not especially covered by specific crimes set anywhere else in this code of conduct.
“… Article 2.20 (depending on the severity and reference of the breech), without any limit, the following: (a) the use of an illegal bat or illegal wicket-keeping gloves;

In the match, Delhi defeated Rajasthan Royals in a thriller, which went into the first super over of the season.

Batting first, Delhi scored 188/5, thanks to 49 of Abishek Porl and contributed to KL Rahul, Axer Patel and Triston Stabs. In response, Rajasthan chased the target with easily thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana, which both were in half centuries. But the match was pushed into a super over as Royals could not score nine runs from the final Mitchell Starc.
Royals batsmen could score 11 runs off only five balls before losing two wickets from two runs. Delhi easily won 12.
