US President Donald Trump on Sunday clarified that no country is “far from hook” when it comes to American tariff, despite recent steps to stop some levy for 90 days, AFP Informed

He also reduced the importance of temporary discounts given for some Chinese-made technology products.

On April 2, Trump has become unstable in the markets since the announcement of the tariff. While the shares initially took a dip, Trump’s administration partially recovered after rolling a 90 -day delay for harsh tariff rates. During this window, most countries would face 10 percent tariff except China, which responded with its own tariff hike.

China and the United States have exchanged tight-for-tat duties, pushing the US tariff to 145 percent on Chinese goods, taking vengeance at 125% level. Trump has stated that unfair trade practices have led to rise to American trade deficit, although some tariffs have also killed nations where the US runs surplus.

“Any improper trade balance, and ‘not getting away from hooks”, that other countries have used against us, especially not China, which, so far, behaves with us! “Trump wrote on Truth Social.

While the administration gave a discount on Friday amid the concerns of the consumer value for Chinese semiconductors and electronics, Trump stressed on Sunday that “no tariff” was not given “exception”. He clarified that those items were still covered under a separate category with 20 percent tariff rate.

Relief can be brief. Last week, exempted electronics may soon be killed again with a sector-specific tariff tied for national defense. Trump said that further details will come on Monday.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik confirmed that the semiconductor tariff would be applied “in a month or two” and said that pharmaceutical products would also fall out of mutual tariffs.

Although Trump is hopeful for a deal with China, business representative Jaimison Greer said that “we have no plans” for the Trump-AI meeting.

Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping started a South East Asia tour this week, aimed at having a relationship with regional manufacturing powers. Between the American consumer trust and the fall of the investor, the White House insisted that the tariff policy was forcing countries to table before the 90 -day window shutdown.
