Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are more dependent on their respective top orders – one by design, another by force. When two or four-season old teams meet at the Ekna Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday, the result can be decided that the top order excludes the other.
Both teams have adopted the opposite strategies: Super giants have made their squad around the big hitters installed, while Titans rely on one top order of three cumulatives – at least one of which is expected to bat through the innings.
So far, in IPL 2025, both strategy has given results: GT sits on top of the table with four out of five wins, while LSG has lost only two of its five games.
Marsh and Gorn: a deadly pair
The LSG has hit Sona with a malignant top three, featuring the leading run-songs, Michel Marsh and Nicholas Gadan of the tournament, along with Eden Markram, who is gradually opening the innings of his drain.
Australian Batter has displayed its spectrum of shots, taking anything low or in its range, especially pitching within the stump. The West Indian has been equally good on both sides of the pitch; The bowlers have tested them against the bouncers, but Gorn has not away from pulling them, scoring 36 runs by 13 runs.

Titans will rely on Mohammad Siraj to keep Marsh calm in the powerplay. Siraj has started the season well and will see the new ball to exploit his vulnerability quickly to bring the right hand. Shubman Gill could also turn to Prasad Krishna’s off-cuts and the poor could deliver pace-off delivery to combat the danger.
Another in-game is between Goran and Rashid Khan to see the competition. This season, the Afghan spinner’s struggle, scored more than his 10 -run economy, hug the left -handed batsman to open his signature sweep shot and stop Twicker from finding his footing.
Titans would hop that they walked early through Marsh and Gariban, highlighting the Fidigetty Middle Order of Lucknow. Rishabh Pant has seen out of color with the bat, while Ayush Badoni and David Miller are not yet to play a memorable innings.
Attack on Titans
In the young Sai Reformson, Titans have found a reliable batsman, who is aware of how to build an innings without losing the tempo. His appearance combined with the experience of Gill and Jose Butler gives GT a formidable top three.

On the other hand, three batsmen with similar symptoms make Gujarat’s batting one-dimensional: attacking the intention but not-does not start. Gill’s first 10 runs are 7.66 runs per over, Sudarshan 6.62, and Butler 7.20.
Gill has got many starts this season and is a big score – some have to be careful with Lucknow. The sky deep, giving shape to the new ball, could exploit Gill’s unstable footwork. Reforms the refractory flicks and quickly draws in the innings, Pant and Avesh Khan can plan a leg-side mesh with a deep square foot fielder.
The initial wickets will not only force Butler to anchor the innings, they will still highlight GT’s unresolved middle order.
“We know the top three -run bulk scores. But yes, there will be a situation where the wickets fall, but what is our preparation. We are doing for the previous month because after our preparation camp starts. As the batsmen, we are ready for any situation,” Shah Rukh Khan said that Shah Rukh Khan said that the last game was promoted in the number four against the king.
Black soil or mixed soil?
The pitch for the game is yet to be confirmed, as the ground staff and curator were seen working on two central wickets, while the two teams held open pure sessions on both sides of the ground on Friday.
The fifth pitch prepared in mixed soil was exposed in the afternoon when training began, and later, the sixth pitch, consisting of black soil, also rolled.
Both the pitches were later covered, keeping the host and visitor a confusion about the nature of the surface for the first afternoon game in this season.
