At least six people were killed on Thursday afternoon after a helicopter crashed in the Hudson River in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed a bell 206 helicopter crashed and remained immersed in the Hudson River.

While the FAA stated that the number of people on the board is “unknown at the moment,” an associated press source confirmed that six people died in the accident.
According to an FAA statement, “FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be investigated.” “NTSB will lead the investigation and provide any update.”

According to the US Coast Guard, a security area, one mile north of the Holland tunnel across the entire Hudson River is in the north and one mile south.
Ferry service on the river north of Jersey City will be affected.
According to a statement by NYPD, “Due to a helicopter crash in the Hudson River in the area around the West Side Highway and Spring Street, it is expected to delay emergency vehicles and traffic in the surrounding areas.”
Three Coast Guard Bots Station is from Kings Point, Station New York and Station Sandy Hook.
The city of Marine 1 of Hobocaine Fire Department is on the spot.
In New Jersey, Hobocaine Fire Department is assisting with Jersey City Police Department, Jersey City Fire Department, NYPD, FDNY and New Jersey State Police.
Hobocaine Police Department is on the waterfront for assistance as per the requirement.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said the crash “Heartbreaking and Tray” in a post on X.
Adams wrote in the post, “@fdny and @nypdnews are helping the respondents near the new jersey side of the river.” “Please avoid the area near Pier 40 in Manhattan meanwhile.”
