Writer and podcast host, Anupam Gupta, with passing his insurance claim, resorted to social media to share his ordinance. He writes that two people called him on 7 April and asked him to go inside to verify his insurance claims. Gupta writes, “I was not contacted at all by my health insurance company.
Gupta shared how he was asked to share documents and Google timeline data that he was in the nursing home at that time.
“What did he ask us here:
1. All documents for our claims. When we said that we have already presented the original to the original insurance company, he said, we want copies.
2. Luckily we had a set. He took photos of all files.
3. He wants Google timeline data to prove that we were in the nursing home at that time. We said, we do not share the location of Google and will not do for you.
4. He wants a credit card statement to prove that we have paid.
5. They also take pictures of our house.
6. He spoke to us some random person of his agency who inquired about all possible details and a lot about the claim, “he shared on social media.
“Finally, he said ‘all health insurance companies do this’ when I asked if it is only for my claim. In fact, they showed me a group of announcements on their mobile phones, to prove that it is now a common practice,” they write.
After sharing your experience, Gupta says, “I know we are great in Indian scams and false claims. I know that health insurance is just ‘playing it safely’ and all this is the standard process that I sign myself when I take health insurance. Practice.”
