Five people were rescued and recovering after taking a small private aircraft out of a runway at an Oregon airport and in a nearby Gulf.
Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (Oth) shared that a small private aircraft moved away from runway 23, which is partially surrounded by the Pacific Ocean during the time of landing on Monday morning.
Officials said the 2019 HA-420 was trying to get down in no time after 6:00 am when it went from the runway and to the bay.
According to officials, the aircraft was located about 100 feet from the eastern end of the runway in the water.

Officials said the emergency dispatents were immediately informed and sent to start the rescue mission.
Emergency response teams at the scene included OTH aircraft rescue and fire fighting crew, Kos Bay and North Bend Fire Departments, North Bend Police Department and Kos County Sheriff Office.

Officials said the pilots and four passengers were rescued from the aircraft, said the officials, and were rushed to a local hospital. Their terms are currently unknown, the airport said.
Officials said the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was alerted and a disposal company was authorized to remove small aircraft from water.

The aircraft will be secured on the property of the airport near the runway where the incident is under investigation.
The airport wrote in a post on their Facebook page, “This is a developing event. The information will be available.”

The airport said the commercial air service was suspended for the United Express for about two hours, but has since been restored.
Skywest Flight 5509 was delayed, but the airport said it was scheduled to arrive at OTH at 2:14 pm on Monday.
