Officials said the 7 -year -old Nevada girl died on Saturday after being killed by a boulder falling into a ski resort.
Edelin Grims from Reno, Nev were identified by the Washo County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, which was just after the incident at the Diamond Peak Ski Resort, just miles away from the banks of Taho Lake.
“An unexpected death of a child is an unimaginable disadvantage that no one can prepare,” Grim’s aunt, Sabina Grims wrote in a sovereign. “Our beloved brother and sister have suffered a significant loss with their precious daughter Eddie’s recent passage.”

The resort said in a statement that medical services were alerted for a “non-skiing accident” at the Ski Resort at around 3:38 pm on Saturday, 29 March.
“Diamond peak ski petrol immediately responded and provided first aid, while emergency services were routes,” the statement said. “Despite the best efforts of the emergency medical team, the child died due to his injuries.”
Fox News Digital confirmed that the cause of his death by the Washo County’s Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has been called “casual”.
The office of the Medical Examiner said that the young girl died of blunt force injuries to her neck and chest.

Washo County Sheriff Office, which is investigating death, called the incident “non-sking accident,” “tragic”.

He said that he believes that no foul play is included in it.

The Reno Gazette Journal reported that the child was a member of the Sugar Bowl Race Team, who was competing at the resort in the Under -12 Skiing Championship.
“The entire diamond peak ski resort family has been deeply influenced by a tragedy on Saturday, March 29, 2025,” the resort said.
