The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) said that at least 322 children have been killed and 609 have been injured in Gaza Strip in the last 10 days.
UNICEF executive director Catherine Russell said, “The ceasefire in Gaza provided a strict needy lifeline for Gaza’s children and hoped to recover,” said Katherine Russell, Executive Director, UNICEF.
“But children are again immersed in a cycle of fatal violence and lack. All parties should follow their obligations under the International Human law to protect the children,” he said.
Most of the children killed were displaced, which, according to UNICEF, had shelter in tents or damaged houses.
The agency also noted that on 23 March, there were children of the surgical department of the Surgical Department of Al-Nasar Hospital in Southern Gaza.
UNICEF said that the resumption of Israeli bombing from March 2, in association with a complete blockade on March 2, has been put to serious risk of Gaza citizens, especially one million of its children.
The agency said, “No assistance is allowed in the Gaza Strip since March 2 – the longest period of interruption since the onset of the war – food, safe water, shelter and medical care have become rapidly rare,” the agency said, warning that the chances of the child’s death will increase.
UNICEF asked further enmity, the restoration of ceasefire, and allowing human and commercial goods in Gaza.
The agency insisted, “The world should not stand up and allow children to continue killing and suffering,” by calling countries with impact to end the struggle and to ensure respect for international law.
The Israeli army also launched a stunning air operation on the Gaza strip on March 18, killing more than 1,000 people since then and shattered the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.
Overall, more than 50,000 Palestinians, most women and children have been killed in the Israeli military attack in Gaza since October 2023.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yov Galant last November for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a massacre case at the International Court of Justice for its war on Enclave.
