Former president, publisher of Jung Media Group and former-Management Editor of the fifth Death Anniversary of newspaper-e-Jahan Mir Javed Ur Rahman is seen on Monday (today) with reverence and seriousness across the country.
Mir Javed, a team of journalism in the country and Mir Khalil Ur Rahman’s eldest son – a man’s puzzle and one of the biggest pioneers of Urdu journalism – was born on 16 August 1946. He died on 31 March 2020 after a fight with lung cancer in Karachi.
With a journalism career spread in half a century, the dynamic and visionary leader carried forward his father’s legacy with dedication and integrity.
“Under his leadership and guidance, the Jung Media Group emerged as the country’s most reliable organization, including Daily Jung, The News, Daily Awam, Daily Inkilab, Jio TV Network, Newspaper-e-Jahan and Fashion magazine Mag The Weekly.”
During his career, Mir Javed retained the principles of journalism and remained firm against external pressure, ensuring that his media group maintained their stand on freedom of expression.
Being an active member of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), where he served as Chairman, Vice President and Secretary, Mir Javed also supported the country’s print media community.
