The first flight of the spectrum rocket of Isar Aerospace ended in dramatic fashion today.
The German -based Isar Aerospace attempted to launch the first orbital rocket from European soil on Sunday morning (March 30). Company spectrum rocket removed from Europe Endowe spaceport In Norway, but the flight faced an discrepancy 18 seconds.

It is not clear what is the cause of discrepancy, but it appears that Isar’s spectrum rocket started tambing in a few seconds in its first flight. In the video of the incident, the rocket is shown falling on the ground with its engines, so it is likely that the flight controllers once ended the flight after the vehicle collided.
The first test flight of the spectrum had no payload today. ISAR Aerospace was only trying to collect data about the vehicle during the launch of the young woman, According to the company’s website,
This was the first rocket launch of Endo Spaceport, which was opened in Northern Norway in 2023 with the Norwegian Sea. The ground stations and features of the spaceport were specially designed for the Isar aerospace and spectrum rockets, and seem to have become untoward today.
The spectrum measures some 95 feet (28 m) long. Spacex Falcon 9Comparatively, 230 feet (70 m) high. Isar Aerospace has promoted the spectrum as a small medium-lift launch vehicle, capable of reaching 2,200 pounds (1,000 kg) in a low-earth orbit.
The spectrum has so far reached the class, but ISAR has already signed an agreement with the Norwegian Space Agency for the first commercial missions of the rocket, in which it will launch satellites of the Arctic Ocean Monitoring (AOS) program by 2028. It is not clear that today’s discrepancy will affect that time.
