In response, on 7 March, stand up for science rallies at 32 places across the US. The organizers coordinated the day of action “” “”Protect science as a public good and column of social, political and economic progress“While the events showed solidarity with federal workers and supported science, the data collected from the participants provides dangerous evidence about how public sentiment is changing and left-free Americans believe what will be necessary to protect American democracy.

Cup reported to contact elected officials, attend the town hall meetings or to express the media to express a scene compared to 2017.
The present moment is also quite different because the Trump administration works to reduce the federal task force, including Large scale firing of scientists in various agencies in US governmentAs a result, the top inspiration of the participants in the performance was 81 percent, a decrease in the federal workforce and the federal funding freeze. In addition to the general battery of questions, I have been asking the participants of demonstrations over the years, we recently began asking the protest participants. American value survey To gauge his view on political violence.
The results of this recent performance are cooled and show a clear trend: DC (35 percent), more than one -third of the stand up for the science rally in Washington, said that they believed that “because things have gone away from the track so far, Americans may have to resort to violence to save our country.” This is slightly higher than the percentage 33 percent reporting support for political violence when we surveyed in People’s March Two days before Trump’s second opening in January. More rallies are coming, a huge march is called on 5 April that is being coordinated A alliance of left-wing groups including inseparable, The Women’s March, and The New Group 50501The subject of opposition, as described by inseparable, “Stop Trump and Musk’s illegal billionaire power grabbing“Stand up for science organizers have not yet joined the alliance, but there is no question that those who care about science will be in the crowd. Trump and Musk keep their hands personal data, cancer research, clean energy, libraries and more awayWe will see there whether the views of those opposing Trump’s policies have become harsh.
As we witness Luigi Mangion, the alleged killer of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is considered as a folk heroAnd in the context of murder of social media sites, it is important to emphasize the dangers for a country. Political violenceHow to research documents Political violence leads to political suppression and reduces social movementsIn other words, not only political violence is dangerous, but it can also backfire.
These unexpected results are frightening to contemplate. While the Trump administration has declared war on science and scientists, the data we have collected should surprise all of us whether scientific and science supporting people may be ready to declare the war back.
