Mookie Bates was unable to play in the first two matches of the regular season’s Los Angeles Dojers in Tokyo last week due to a disease – and he may not be able to suit this week.

“You weigh yourself and you weigh 150 pounds. Before I leave the spring, I was 175 (pound). It’s not just food. … My body is just like eating. Really every time I fuel my body, I throw away, and I don’t know what to do about it. I am afraid of eating. Bates said this week,
Bates was actually sent back to Los Angeles from Japan to undergo the test and said, “Everything is clear.”
“I mean, I feel very good. Like, my body feels very good. I have been able to work outside. I have been able to do a lot, but eat, which is strange,” Bates said. “So the symptoms have gone away in a way. All I just have to find out how to calm my stomach.”
He said, “My vital, everything is clear. Blood test, everything is really back, is really clean and healthy,” he said. “I think it’s just something with my stomach that has actually increased, so I have just started some new medicine and tried to calm my stomach.”
Dozers and Angels were meeting for two exhibition games before the day, but Bates was late on Sunday and will not play on Monday.

“It is difficult to eat just to eat and play the game,” Bates said. “So it seems that I am just going to be a little lighter. Maybe I play a little upwards for the start of the season. But no, I just want to play, man. I am sitting, tired, tired, tired, tired of doing all this. I want to play really.”
The eight-time all-star slipped in 116 Games last year on .289/.372/.491, the lowest in a season since becoming a full-time player, leaving the 2020 small campaign.
