California-based EV Startup Telo trucks have unveiled the preprototype of their MT1 electric mini-truck, indicating an important step towards production. At a program in Los Angeles, the attendees found an up-close look on MT1, which combines the utility of a full-sized truck with compact footprints of a mini cooper SE. This innovative design challenges the trend of oversized vehicles dominating the US market by offering a practical and efficient option for urban and external enthusiasts.

Compact size fulfills full size capacity
MT1 Toyota tacoma -like functionality is designed to pack just 152 inches long in a vehicle, approximately a mini cooper SE size. Despite its short stature, it claims impressive interior space for five adults and 60 -inch truck beds. The truck’s folded midgate allows it to carry large items in the form of 8-foot surfboard or 4-by-8 plywood sheets, making it ideal for both the work and weekend adventures.

Performance and limit
The TELO provides two configurations for MT1.
- Aadhaar Model: A single-motor with 300 horsepower, a rear-wheel-drain system and an estimated range of 260 miles.
- Advanced Model: A dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system distributes 500 horsepower, which increases the boundary by 350 miles. This version increases at a speed of 0 to 60 mph in about four seconds.
Both models feature fast -charging capabilities, which allow 20% -80% recharge in just 20 minutes. Alternative solar panels, tono covers or tourist shells can add up to 15 miles per day on the cab roof, which increases its efficiency.

Cost and future plans
The MT1 will start at $ 41,520 for the base model, available for additional power and range. While the production on full scale is still a few years away, the Tellow is actively testing its prototype for safety and durability in the next winter. The prototype will be handed by hand by California-based manufacturer Ariya groupWhich is a prominent player in the development of the initial phase of concept vehicles and is a rapid prototyping for the most notable motor vehicle companies globally. Tellow has already secured more than 5,000 predecessors, translating more than $ 250 million into customers commitments, a notable achievement for startups challenging traditional truck design.

Kurt’s major takeaways
TELO MT1 has no doubt that there is a complicated concept that definitely challenges oversized truck criteria with its compact size and impressive capabilities. Now unveiling and testing with preproduction prototypes, the Tellow is making some real progress. However, it remains to be seen whether Telo can fulfill its promises, especially in terms of production and strength. While the MT1 has the ability to take out a place in the EV market, it seems that there are a lot of obstacles before seeing it on the streets in the future that undoubtedly lies further.
