It was just six months ago that Graham Potter was considered a man to enter a fresh, exciting era in Chelsea.
The club’s new ownership group led by American businessman Todd Bohli had distanced the potter from bright, with the promise of management of one of the most attractive teams in world football.
One of the most exciting young managers in the Premier League was spent over $ 600 million to bring large-nam players to the club and Potter, they had to mold them into a winning machine.
However, on Sunday, the club announced that he had dismissed his manager after a weak magic.
Potter managed to win only 10 out of 28 league matches in this season and left the team in 11th position in the Premier League table.
In recent weeks, the players had seen their own shadows and many fans lost confidence that Potter’s plan for the club could work anytime.
Eventually, after its manager sticking first, the blues ownership agreed.
“On behalf of everyone in the club, we want to thank Graham honestly for his contribution to Chelsea,” the club’s co-owner Todd Bohli and extremely Eggbali said in a statement.
“We have the most respect for Graham as a coach and a person. He has always operated himself with professionalism and integrity and we are all disappointed in this result.”
In his previous role as a brighton manager, Potter was given time to stamp his identity on the squad.
The club was economically punching above its weight and as a result, new signs were carefully selected, which would admire the style of the potter’s game.
The approach paid as the team became an established Premier League organization, which has gone on more and more things this season – Seagal is currently in the league and the UEFA Conference is sixth in the league qualification site.
In Chelsea, it seemed full opposite.
As the previous owner was under Roman Abramovich, the club expected immediate results and used its financial weight to sign several high-profile names, including the choice of Enzo Fernandez and Mykhelo Mudrik.
Despite his impressive CV, Potter never managed the superstar and suddenly found himself with many in a changing room.
The scatter gun approach for recruitment also left the team with balance and lack of organization, failing to get out of a team with Potter.
Truly, many had raised a eyebrow when the potter was chosen to transform Thomas Tuchal as a manager at the very top level.
Despite being out of the side with fans until the end of his tenure, Tuchail directed Chelsea to the Champions League title in 2021 and is still considered one of the world’s best coaches by many.
The German has gone through the 2024/25 season to signed with the Bavarian veteran Bayern Munich and recently told reporters that “he needed a long time to distance himself from Chelsea” because he was hurt by leaving the club.
“Todd (Bohli) said he would be different from Roman (Abramovich),” has written by former liverpool player and current Pandit Jamie Karagar Twitter,
“I feel for the Graham potter, but it was unavoidable. You don’t change the tuccles for the potter. Ricious decisions to start together.”
Champions League quarterfinals, with 10 games in the league and on the horizon, still have much more.
Assistant coach Bruno Salter will take over on an interim basis, but Bohli and his team should now look for a long-term replacement-and ready to bring orders for the chaos of Chelsea.
Potter’s dismissal has yet to be another indication of how the transient manager can be in the top-uptime of English football, especially when the results are not instantaneous.
So far this season, there has been a record 12 dismissal in the Premier League, in which Potter has left his post to Lecester Boss Brendon Roders on the same day.
The previous record was 10 manager change in the same season, set in four other campaigns, recently in 2017/18.
