Philips Hue can expand its lineup to include a smart doorbell if a leak within the hue iOS app is no signal. The iOS app added the option to install equipment with or without QR code. A list of potential devices to install from choosing the latter option is called “hue secure doorbell”.
This is a very solid indicator that Philips HU has some sleeves, although an official announcement has not yet been made about the device. The best we can do as long as it provides hue specs – but we can make a very concrete estimate based on the current lineup.
Philips Hue already has its safe camera line: Philips hue secure flood light camera and safe battery camera. Both top out at 1080p, so we can assume that the HU Secure Dorbel will probably support 1080p resolution, but not 4K. As the price, we won’t be surprised to see it on the land around a $ 200 mark.
The app revealed some information about Dorbel. Most likely, it should be connected to the power supply of the house instead of walking on the battery. This means that it will probably replace your door space. And since none of other items in the safe camera line works with Apple Homekit, there is no possibility of doing so in this new entry.
This is an early leak, and it seems that it has already been removed from the hue app. We could not find it during our test. Thanks to some eagle-eye enthusiasts, we have screenshots of the app screen. It is possible that this doorbell is an undeclared object whose aim is part of recent smartths cooperation. With any fate, HU will soon make an official announcement about Dorbel.
