Northwestern men’s basketball coach Chris Collins is in a deeper discussion on a new contract, which will give them extra years, will pick up and provide more resources for employees and programs, sources on Friday told ESPN’s Pete Thmail.
Sources said that the new deal is expected to come together in the coming weeks.
Coalins have been linked to Villanova’s head coach Vacti in recent weeks, seeing their success in Northwestern and their father, through Daug, who played with Philadelphia, who played and later coached for 76 residents.
Colins have been the head coach at Northwestern since 2013, guiding Wildcats in 2017 for the presence of their first NCAA tournament and the program for the NCAA tournament in 2023 and 2024.
Northwestern started 10–3 in this season, but was an injury-raid Big Ten campaign, eventually a total of 17–16 and 7–13 in the league play.
Colins are 194–190 in 12 sessions with wildcats.
Prior to taking over at Northwestern, he was an assistant coach in Duke where he played his college ball – under Mike Crazizski for 13 years.
