President Donald Trump announced that Boeing would manufacture the next generation fighter Jet, F -47 for the US Air Force. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth joined the Oval office for the announcement.
“I am thrilled to declare that my direction is moving forward with the United States Air Force in the world’s first sixth generation fighter jet … nothing comes close in the world, and it will be called ‘F -47’, the generals chose that title.”
Trump stated that Boeing was awarded the contract after “rigid and fully competing between some top aerospace companies in the United States. The President also said that an experienced version of Jet is clearly “flying secretly” for nearly five years.

“F -47 the most advanced, most capable, most deadly aircraft will ever be manufactured at any time,” Trump told reporters. “America’s enemies will never see it,” he later said.
The Trump administration has taken a distinct approach to the Department of Defense compared to the Biden administration, including focusing on establishing American dominance on the world stage.

The F-47 will be built as part of the next generation air defense (NGAD) initiative, which was stopped under the Biden administration. During the announcement, Hegseth touched the program and stated that the biden administration was “potentially ready to scrap it.”
According to Exios, the NGAD is seen supported by the sixth generation fighters and supported by Robot Wingman designed by Enduril Industries and General Atomics.

Hegseth praised the President for reviving the NGAD, and said that the fighter jet “sends a very direct, clear message to our colleagues that we are not going anywhere, and for our enemies that we will be able to power in the world, unaffected for generations to come.”
Chief of Staff General of US Air Force David Alvin, who was also present at the Oval Office, said the aircraft represents “what peace is seen through peace in future”. He also thanked the President and said that the F -47 will help the Air Force to establish detention.
