Designers were both thrilled and challenged by request, especially looking at the tight time limit. Malhotra said, “It was an honor and exciting to prepare a magnificent Michael Jackson at the Bollywood Awards.” “At that time, I wanted to mix a global infusion in the traditional sherwani cut, so I worked on a small sherwani with trousers and made a shawl/stole in the handloom of the textured handloom with woven silk and brocade borders, all without measurements in a day.”
The dress was a fusion of Indian heritage and contemporary fashion, characterizing a smooth short sherwani, tailored trousers, and an elegant wrapped shawl. The organization’s complex detailing with handloom texture, woven silk, and brocade boundaries gave it a modern appeal so far.
