    Ramadan is around the corner, a month of deep spiritual reflection and community relations. For many people, this is a month of fasting, prayer and relationship. But for people with diabetes, this holy month requires a little more attention and plan. With the right tools and knowledge, anyone can effectively navigate the duration of their fasting and participate in the blessings of this holy month, without compromising their good.

    Balancing blood sugar levels during fasting, pre-don from Suhur to Post-Soset Iftar, can be challenging due to potential fluctuations. Therefore, Suhur and Iftar become essential foods of the day, provide energy and nutrition. For people with diabetes, careful food plans during these times are important to manage significant changes in blood sugar levels.

    This year, some suggestions have been made to manage your diabetes during Ramadan:

    1. Fill your body with nutrients during Iftar

    Traditionally, fasting is broken with dates and fruits, followed by a nutritious, balanced diet. Drink lots of water and to avoid beverages in caffeine or sugar, such as coffee, tea and soft drinks to prevent dehydration. A well -structured food scheme is required, which emphasizes the balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Give priority to starch food, which is rich in nutrients and fiber, such as oats, multigrene bread, vegetables and lentils, protein sources fish, tofu and nuts in protein sources to maintain energy levels and overall health.

    2. Exercise is key

    Important as proper nutrition, physical activity is important for managing diabetes, especially during Ramadan. While fasting, avoid loud workouts, especially leading to rapid break in hours. To maintain fitness and manage blood sugar levels, it is important to choose light exercise for about 30 minutes or a choice of light exercise.

    3. Work on your sleeping schedule

    Ramadan often involves staying late with friends and family. However, it is important in maintaining good health for good quality sleep. It also helps people to avoid lack of sleep, which can negatively affect your appetite or longing levels. In addition, sleep plays an important role in regulating immunity, metabolism and blood sugar levels, which is necessary when managing diabetes.

    4. Importance of regular monitoring of blood sugar levels

    For proper management of diabetes, continuous monitoring of blood sugar levels is necessary, especially during Ramadan. Continuous glucose monitoring devices such as free style library provide real-time data, offering full view of blood sugar trends instead of single-time reading. You can make informed decisions about your food, physical activity and treatment with this data available on your smartphone.
