Jeļena Ostapenko on Sunday extended its impressive unbeaten record on World No. 1 IGA świątek, abolishing rescue US Open Champions in 16 rounds at Flushing Meadows.

Sheer Shakti from big hitting osteopenko once again proved to be too much for świątek, Latvian won 3-6 6-3 6–1 and improved his head-to-head record 4–0.

In New York, 20th seed Ostapenko killed 31 winners for their victory, which ended the 75-week run of świątek as World No. 1.

“I think she doesn’t really like to play big hitters,” Ostapenko told reporters after her victory. “She likes for some time. When I play fast, aggressive and powerful, it is in a little trouble.

“I always expect a tough fight against the IGA, he is a great player and very consistent … but I just went for it. I know I had to play my game and be aggressive because she is not what she likes.”

After losing the opening set, Ostapenko dominated the match and took a decisive 5–0 lead in the third set.

Świątek, who was not yet to leave a set in this year’s tournament, managed to escape from a baggles, which he often handed over to opponents, but eventually there was nothing that he could have done to prevent the power and accuracy of Ostapaneko.

“I wonder my level has changed so much,” Wiiątek told reporters. “Usually when I play badly, I play badly in the beginning, then I catch or solve the problem. This time, it was completely opposite.

“I really don’t know what happened to my game. I thought there was no sudden control. ,

The 2017 French Open Champion Ostapenko will play Coco Goff in the quarter-finals, when the teenager defeated Caroline Wozniaki 6-3 3-6 6-1.

Gauf, who was to return from a break down in the third set, won the biggest title of his career in Cincinnati before the US Open and continued his good form in New York.

One of the favorite to lift the title in the sixth seed and an open field, Gauf is bidding for the first time on the Grand Slam final and the house of the house.

After Dane retired three and a half years ago to start a family, his victory ended the remarkable comeback of Voseniaki in the game. This was the first appearance at a Grand Slam in Vozniani since the 2020 Australian Open after returning to the tour last month.

In Vozniani’s run flushing meadows, during which he abolished the 11th seed Petra Quitova, there is no doubt that he will be filled with confidence before the new season.

“I have a lot of positivity to move forward with me. I am on the right path, ”said the 2018 Australian Open champion Wozniaki.

“I am getting my look, I am getting my feet. I am excited to take more programs and more players. ,
