If you want to buy one of the best e-texts, then a strong option is Cobo Clara, a middle-sized e-reader that comes in two different tastes. The first of which, Cobo Clara Rang, I reviewed first, and found excellent. But what about Clara BW, color colored monochrome-screen siblings? Thankfully, Cobo sent me both so that I could put them in the test and find out.

Most of the Clara BW is similar to the Clara color, so I will not go into intimate expansion as I did with color. Look back to that review if you are willing to know what it feels and how the software works. In this review, I am covering the difference between two devices, after covering the same fields on a large scale. However, you will also know why I am hesitant to recommend Clara BW after spending so much time with Clara color.

Cobo Clara BW is an excellent e-reader

Cobo Clara BW is not the most exciting looking device outside there, but it is a well -designed.

This stout is made of black plastic, and slippery on one side, I like it. Heft is reassuring, and the recessed power button on the back is a win. Below is a USB-C port which means it can share a charger with your phone. Like its stable, it is repaired with guides and parts from IFIXIT. And like every e-reader, weeks-weeks-battery life means that it will not require everyone to charge. Small size means that it is portable in a way such as large e-readers like kindle paperwet, and when it is a bit boring, you will forget about all its looks when you start digging in books.

The 6 -inch display is clear and crisp, with a 300 pixel per inch (PPI) resolution, which means that small details are also easily well -known. As a result, reading on this device is very good. Night mode can kick at a specific time, and filter blue lights, so that you can easily organize to the bed. Audibook experience is … basic. It works well, but people who prefer a lot of options and ways to make their hearing experiences will probably be lacking. However this casual audibook will work fine for listeners, and you can hear through a Bluetooth connection, whether it is via wireless earbuds, headphones or Bluetooth speakers.

It is a great e-read so far. But when I was using it, something was bothering me. The more I used it, the more I realized that I did not understand why this e-reader is present.

It is similar to Clara color

Clara BW has a large shade, and this shadow is of Clara color.

Clara BW Is An excellent tool. But its equivalent, Clara color – and in many ways, BW is very good Because There is also color.

These two devices are the same. I do not mean “similar to being equal”, I mean really the same. Close the screen and keep the two devices side-by-side and it is impossible to tell the two separately. If it was not for the color screensever on the Clara color, I would not really know what I was looking at. It is not necessarily an issue in most people’s lives, as you only have the possibility of running into problems if you and someone you live with one of each, but it highlights the major issue I have with this e-reader; Its Very Clara similar to color.

BW’s look is just the beginning. It is exactly the same size, exactly with the same software, and the same form and feels. Clara BW has a long approximate battery time, likely because it does not need to present the power intensive color, and of course, there is a difference in performance technology. I like Clara BW’s display. I had no problem with the Clara color screen, but Clara BW looks somehow and feels better, yet both of them have the same resolution and glasses. If I was not using both of them side-by-side and one after the other, would I have seen? Not at all, and it should not be a reason to like BW in any way. And the flip side of this preference has a 1.0 GHz processor of BW, which is largely overched by a dual 2.0 GHz processor of color.

    Mark Jansen / Digital Trend

Clara Color oversees Clara BW – and so what? Is this really such a big thing? Ultimately, the Kindle Collosoft Kindle overs the paperwite signature edition, and they are basically the same device. Why shouldn’t this happen for two Clara devices? The key cost is: Kindle paperwite signature version is $ 200, while Colorsoft costs $ 280. This is a difference of $ 80 between the two. The same cannot be said for Clara color and Clara BW, where the difference is just $ 20.

While this means that Clara color is a great deal, it is some suspect on whether Clara BW is also. While Clara BW is an excellent e-reader, so Clara is color, and the color comes with a more powerful processor and a color display, for only $ 20 and more. It is difficult to see why any Clara will take BW. Only those who dislike the color, or really what In fact Want to save $ 20, Clara should consider BW.

Should you buy Cobo Clara BW?

Cobo Clara bent on a green shed behind Cobo Clara color.
    Mark Jansen / Digital Trend

No, you should not buy Cobo Clara BW. Not because it is a bad e-reader, but because it is very close to the price of Cobo Clara color, which you Needed Purchase

Clara BW is a victim of color success. Cobo’s offerings will have exact space for more than one Clara model, but when it is being sold in $ 140, Cobo Clara is just $ 20 less than the color? It is difficult to see who will spend $ 20 to avoid a strong processor and a color display.

Clara BW Is An excellent e-reader, but when the price difference between its and Clara color is so low, it is impossible to recommend.

This would change dramatically if Clara BW was available at low prices. If it was $ 40 less, and the cost is $ 100, it would be a much more viable option and would be very easy to justify the weak processor of BW and black and white performance. But at this price? Not at all, buy Cobo Clara color instead.
