The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) strongly condemned the “heinous and cowardly” attack on Jaffer Express by militants of the illegal Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Calling to bring criminals for justice, the statement issued by the President of the 15-member Council for Christina Marcus Lasen of March Denmark expressed “deep sympathy and condolences” from all countries to actively cooperate with Islamabad in this regard.
The United Nations body condemned against the backdrop of Tuesday’s attack on the Jaffer Express by BLA terrorists, who blew the train tracks and took over 440 passengers hostage in a day -long deadlock with security services at Mountain pass at a remote mountain pass in Bolan district.
The army said after cleaning the train and saving the hostages, it killed 33 attackers. Before the operation started, 26 passengers were martyred by the terrorists, while four security personnel were martyred during the operation.
In view of the number of casualties in the incident, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary revealed that 26 martyred train passengers included 18 security personnel of army and FC, Pakistan railway and three officials and three officers of other departments and five citizens.
He further said that the terrorist attack could increase the toll of death further as 37 of 354 passengers were injured.
During a press briefing on Friday, the army spokesman called India the chief sponsor of terrorism in Balochistan and began the media war led by the Indian media in support of terrorists.
Lieutenant General Chaudhary said that fake videos were made using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to spread malicious publicity about the Jaffer Express attack.
Meanwhile, expanding the attack, the UNSC stated that many Pakistani citizens resulted in condemnation work as a result of the condemnable work of terrorism.
“The members of the Security Council confirmed that terrorism among all its forms and expressions is one of the most serious threats for international peace and security,” read the statement in which it was further reiterated that any tasks of terrorism were criminal and unfair, whether they were done whenever and by whom, whenever and without care of their inspiration.
“They (members) confirmed all states to confirm the need to compete with all mediums, according to other obligations under the International Human Rights Act, International Refugee Law and International Humanitarian Law under International Law, under the International Humanitarian Law and International Humanitarian Law, the conclusion of the statement.”
