Coco Goff continued his round of his loud victory US Open On Tuesday, Jelena Ostapaneko in straight sets.
World No. 6 did not lose a game in the initial set before wrapping the 6–0 6-2 win to book their first semi-final spots at the US Open.
With many top seeds in Draw of women Already knocked out, Gauf is still one of some favorite.
The 19-year-old Goff, now either Sorrana Corsstia or this year’s French Open Runner-Up Karolin Muchova will face the next round.
“I’m so happy,” Goff said in his on-court interview after winning. “Last year I lost in the quarter -finals. I am happy and ready to work on the next one. ,
In the previous round, Latvian faced a difficult challenge against the resurrection Ostapenko after defeating the defending champion IGA świątek.
However, while playing in front of a house crowd, Goff showed no indication of nerves as she dominated her opponent to win the first set in just 20 minutes.
In 2017, the French Open Back won Ostapenko, came out with more aggression in the second set, winning two games to avoid the total whitewash.

Finally, however, disappointed Latvian did not compete for Gauf as he was punished for constant errors.
While the result seems vigorous on paper, Gauf was still designed to work for his victory.
Ostapenco saved two match points as Gauf looked to finish the tie, but the American was eventually able to win with an exact forehand to seal its 10th consecutive win.
“Honestly, I did not feel comfortable at all during the match – even at match points,” Goff said.
“I know plays the game (ostapaneko). He is nothing for the scorline, so I was trying to get every point, trying to put every ball in.
“This is really difficult against him because you can’t really be aggressive, so I was trying my best to be aggressive when I could, and most of the time I was trying to bring the ball deeply. He is a tough player and he had a great tournament.”
With a win, Gauf became the first American teenager to reach the US Open semi -final since Serena Williams in 2001.
This is also the second time in Gauf’s career that she has made it on the semi -final stage of a Grand Slam – the last coming to the French Open in 2022, where she finally lost to świątek in the final.
After the victory against świątek in the previous round, Ostapenco was not happy with the amount of rest, which he was allocated between the impressive victory and his match against Gauf.
“, If I play a match, eg, late night session, I think, in a day, I will have to play at least at the same time or later because you don’t have much time to really recover,” Ostapenko told reporters after his loss. “I think it was better for his schedule, because, of course, he used to play long ago I played the night session.”
The 26 -year -old said that she was sure that she was going to face goff in the night session.
“The thing was that, when I asked a day earlier, I was sure that I was going to play in the night session because he told me. When the schedule came out, I saw that I am playing the first match and like,” Wow, this is a little strange scheduling, “said Ostapaneko.
“Yes, I was a little surprised when I saw the schedule, not really well.”
The CNN reached the US Tennis Association about Ostapenko’s comments, but did not receive the response at the time of publication.
Gauf now has a huge opportunity in flushing meadows.
In Monday’s action, świątek, number 1 seed, Jessica Peguula, Number 3 Seed, and ONS Jabeur, Number 5 Seed, all exiting all the tournaments, were seen as two highest remaining seeds in women except for Gauf and number 2 seed Aryana Sabalenka.
And with some concrete win under his belt in New York already, Gauf has certainly given the best chance to win his first Grand Slam title.

The top seeds left in the draw, Sabalenka, will face the growing Chinese star Zheng Kinwen-which is scoring the best career run in a Grand Slam after harassing last year’s finalist Jabur comfortably in the round-off-16 in the quarter-finals.
Świątek’s early exit means that Sabalenka will become a new world number 1 on Monday, he has topped the ranking for the first time in his career, with his origin after a remarkable year, in which he won three titles, including his first Grand Slam in the Australian Open.
Sabalanka says that she is currently “playing great tennis” but knows “there are always things to do better” because she estimates a difficult match against Zheng.
“We practiced with him a one -two times,” he told reporters after a victory over Daria Kastkina on Monday. “She is really playing great tennis. (His) Fourhand is really heavy, I would also say backhand. Serving well. running well.
“It is as if she has not found anything to lose, so she is playing in her best form. She played a fantastic tennis against ONS – I haven’t seen her previous matches, but, yes, she is still playing brilliant tennis.
“The most difficult part is that she is moving well, playing some heavy shots. I have to be physically and mentally prepared that some winners are going to be against me in that match.
“I just have to focus more on myself. I know that if I bring my tennis there, I have a chance to win this match. ,
