Novak Djokovic hovering through the US Open Final after a 6-3 6-2 7-6 (7-4) win against American young man Ben Shelton.
Shelton, playing in his first Grand Slam semi-finals, came out blazing all guns, but sometimes unable to lay a glove on the affected Djokovic.
World number 2 was in its best form during clash and controlled the controlled proceedings against Shelton from beginning to end.
Djokovic said during his on-court interview after the victory, “These are the types of matches and opportunities that I still thrive and I am going and inspire me to try and work hard as young people every day.”
“Grand Slam are those who inspire me to play their best tennis, do their best tennis.”
Serbian’s first break came in the sixth game of the match and after going above 4–2 in the first set, Djokovic never looked back-to win the first set 6-3.
This speed took to the next set, where Djokovic raced to claim a second set 6–2 to strangle an encounter inside Arthur Ash Stadium.
Being two sets against Djokovic is a place where no tennis wants to be a player and despite being behind, Shelton will be proud of his efforts in the final set.
The world number 47 was removed, making it difficult for Djokovic to move forward in the finals, and he was able to break the service of Grand Slam winner twice during the final frame-forcing a tiebreak.
Djokovic eventually took a third set in Tybreak and celebrated by mimicking his opponent’s celebration – including catching a phone in his ear and then hanging it – something that has become a trademark of Shelton’s victory during his US Open run.
Jeet also means that Serbian now holds a record of 30–1 against the players playing at their home slam after knocking on the favorite Shelton of the house crowd.
“I knew before the quarter -finals that I would play an American player and it’s never easy. To control the veins and in those moments that matters, ”Djokovic said.
“Today things were really running easily for me and then it broke back and it was someone’s game at the end of the third set. This is the kind of atmosphere we all like to play, so I am really happy with this victory today. ,

At the age of 20, future tournaments will have a lot of opportunities for a large serving young man and based on this year’s US Open, they have enough skills to do so.
For Djokovic, he has now made it a record-colored 10th US Open final and he would like to win his fourth title at the Flushing Meadows in Sunday’s finals.
He also has a chance to set the history of 24 Grand Slam singles title and the record of Margaret Court.
The 36 -year -old, Karlos Alakraj and Daniel Medvedev will play the finals at the Arthur Ash Stadium against the winner of the semi -finals, who play later on Friday.
