Indian all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja has dismissed the speculation around his possible retirement after India’s Champions Trophy 2025 Triumph on New Zealand in Dubai.
36 -year -old Jadeja played an important role in India’s victory on Sunday, claiming Tom Latham’s major wicket, a disciplined 10 over spell for 30 runs. His efforts limited New Zealand to 251–7. In chasing, he remained unbeaten at nine off six balls, scoring victorious runs for India’s third Champions Trophy title in the 49th over.
Captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli addressed their retirement plans after the match plans, speculation about Jadeja’s future. However, he quickly terminated rumors with an Instagram story, which reads, “No unnecessary rumors, thanks.”
The post, which included folded hands and salute emoji, went viral, fans celebrated confirmation that experienced all -rounder ODI is not moving away from cricket.
Jadeja was also named the ‘match fielder’ for his standout fielding performance throughout the tournament. India’s fielding coach T. Dileep praised the team’s efforts, which exposes their intensity, commitment and comrades.
“Any effort on the field is never very small. Each commitment was fueling a general goal – highlighting the Champions Trophy. Fielding has two sides of the same coin; Intensity, aggression, approach, and alert on one, and high, trust, and brotherhood. We displayed both throughout the tournament, “Dilip said.
Jadeja, who performed his ODI in 2009, represented India in 203 matches, scored 8,150 runs and claimed 230 wickets. He celebrated the title victory in Dubai with his wife, Revaba and daughter, Nidana.
While reflecting at this time, Jadeja acknowledged the importance of victory.
“This is with me, sometimes a hero, sometimes a void. The wicket was not easy for a new batsman. Hardik and KL were great. Winning the Champions Trophy is a very big thing. If you don’t win a big tournament after playing for so long, it hurts, it hurts,” he said.
With his latest statement, Jadeja has ended speculation, making it clear that his focus is on representing India.
