On July 10, Lion Publishers announced the finalist for the 2024 Lion Sustainability Awards. Of the 56 entries of 40 organizations, six Indiegraf network publishers were recognized in seven prize categories for their achievements during journalism impact, financial health and operational flexibility. The winners will be announced during the Lion Awards Festival and Dinner on 5 September in Chicago, Lion’s independent news stability summit Fro Sept 5-7. 🌱 Planet Detroit Is a finalist for Financial health awardWhich recognizes a lion member who has made significant progress towards strengthening his financial health, by developing a plan to earn money, managing a budget, and/or by monitoring revenue and expenses to expand its financial runway.
“This year, Planet Detroit doubled its audience, web traffic and reader revenue. Their long-term revenue strategy aims to enhance and maintain three revenue sources-Perry, reader revenue, and impact partnerships and sponsorship. In 2023, he attracted more than $ 283,000 in philanthropic investment and received more than $ 18,000 from 35 impact partners. “When Peru migrants began arriving in the US through the Arizona-Mexico border, Conta Arizona received messages from relatives concerned of the migrants. He had no one to contact Arizona, as there was no embassy or consulate to address people with the needs of established citizens and consular security. But thanks to the reporting of Conta Arizona, which raised these voices and reached the authorities in Peru, approved the establishment of Peru’s general consulate in Phoenix, AZ. ,

🔦 La Eskwina TX Is a finalist for Year cooperation in micro / small revenue level (less than $ 500,000 in annual revenue)Which recognizes a lion member who has successfully formed a short -term or long -term cooperation with at least another organization to positively influence his journalism effect, financial health and operational flexibility.
