On 16 October, Press Forward announced recipients who will get a $ 20 million share in grant to fund local news across America.
Among the 205 outlets selected for funding – a majority receiving $ 100,000 in general operating support – many indigraff publishers are part of the network.
According to Press Forward, 40 percent of the grants are led by black, indigenous and other colored leaders, and 25 percent of recipients are serving rural communities.
