A Celebration of Speed and Innovation

Bugatti’s four world record cars United: A Celebration of Speed and Innovation

On 9 November, Bugati opened another milestone in motor vehicle history. W16 Mistral, achieving a top speed of 453.91 km/h, became the fastest open-top car ever. The monumental feat was observed at a historic meeting of four world-ridden-brakeing vehicles of Bugati at the ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg GMBH track in Germany.

The lineup included Veron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition, Veron 16.4 Grand Sport Wates World Record Edition, Chiron Super Sport 300+ and new Taj W16 Mistral World Record Car. Together, they represent more than a decade of tireless innovation, demonstrating mastery in the growth of bugati and carrying out the boundaries of motor vehicle performance.

The journey began in 2010 with Veron 16.4 Super Sport. Powered by 1,200 PS W16 engine with increased turbochargers and intercollers, it gained 431.07 km/h. This record strengthened the status of Bugati as a leader in high performance engineering and inspired a special world record version for customers.

In 2013, Bugatti broke the record in the open-top category with Veron 16.4 Grand Sport Vits. Anthony Liu pushed this miracle up to 408.84 km/h, which proved that the open-air performance could rival off-lockpit accuracy.

2019 saw another milestone with Chiron Super Sport 300+, reaching 490.484 km/h. Equipped with an 8.0-liter W16 engine producing 1,600 PS, it redefined the boundaries of what was possible for production cars.

As the last work of the W16 era of Bugati, W66 Mistral honored its predecessors by setting a new open-top speed record. The minimum amendments allowed it to expose 1,600 PS and reach 453.91 km/h with the Bugatti Pilot Officer Andy Wallace behind the wheel.

Bugatti President Christofe Piochon reflected the emotional significance of uniting these icons, emphasizing dedication and passion behind each achievement. The W16 Mistral now joined the lion collection, which preserves the legacy of Bugati and innovation for generations to come.

This unprecedented gathering celebrates not only records but a sense of innovation that defines Bugati – the legacy of engineering talent and unmatched performance.
