South Korean MPs on Wednesday cited the country’s intelligence agency, saying that 600 North Korean troops have died while fighting Russia against Ukraine.
North Korea has had about 4,700 casualties in the conflict, including deaths and injuries. MPs said that some soldiers of the country have shown signs of improving war capabilities in about six months using modern weapons such as drones.
“After six months of participation in the war, a member of the Parliamentary Intelligence Committee Lee Seong-Karun said after South Korea’s National Intelligence Service, the North Korean army has become less disqualified, and its fighter capacity has improved significantly as it becomes accustomed to using new weapons such as drones.”
Around 15,000 North Korean troops have been deployed to fight Ukraine.

South Korean MPs said that around 600 North Korean soldiers have been killed fighting with Russia against Ukraine. ,
MPs said that under a defense treaty last year, Pyongyang agreed to deploy Troops and supply weapons to Russia in exchange for technical assistance on espionage satellites, as well as for drones and anti-air missiles, MPs said.

The Central Military Commission of North Korea said on Monday that the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, had sent Russia to “Ukrainian new-Nazi occupiers to eliminate and eradicate and free the Kursk region with the help of the Russian armed forces.” The Commission said that North Korean soldiers eventually gave Russia “a significant contribution” to seize the border area.

Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked North Korea for sending soldiers and promised not to forget his sacrifices.
Putin said on Monday, “Russian people will never forget the valor of DPRK special forces.” “We will always respect the heroes who gave their lives for Russia, for our common freedom, fighting shoulder to shoulder in arms with their Russian brothers.”
Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said that Russia can provide military assistance to North Korea if necessary according to the Defense Treaty.
