For months, the 2025 NFL draft class has been billed as weakened by scouts and media analysts relative to recent years. It has been declared thin and zero from blue-chip talent. And sometimes, it is called flat-out bad.
But as NFL analysts, Scouts and officials dive into the class before round 1 on 24 April, changing the story. Thanks to the undercuceman announcements and a close look at the day 2 and 3 possibilities, this class can be stronger than earlier prediction.
How did we get here? After talking to more than a dozen scouts and general managers in the last few weeks, a clear pattern emerged. The 2025 class inferiority began as a discovery for the historical perspective, the status value, became a deep dive in the team-building philosophy and the idea that good players are out of there-Skouts just need to find them.
The AFC College Scouting Director said, “Saying that it is a bad class, hasn’t seen enough players yet.”

Status of strength. Best Comp
What are scouts saying about this class?
A general manager of NFL said, “There are four, perhaps five, blue-chip players.” “After that, these 40 people are with a grade of the first-day or second round.”
Scouts look at the 2025 square as light at the future all-fros but are strong in the beginning. AFC South Area Scout said, “You are going to see a ton of miscreants from this class because it is such an experienced group.”
Although there is a high-end deficiency in the class, cannot see the possibilities seen as future stars-like Kaleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Junior. Put it as AFC East Area Scout: “Player number 15 on your board can have the same grade as number 50.”
This is great for the first round or after the teams selected. It also benefits teams with three or more pics in the first two rounds, such as Chicago Beer, whose pick no. There are three selections between 10 and 41, and the Buffalo Bill, Nos is with three selections between 30 and 62.
This may also mean that due to lack of leagwide consensus about top players in the strong middle class of the draft, more trades starting between Round 2 through Round 2 means more trades. Reverse is unlikely, as the top 10 can have less trade in the top 10 due to lack of blue-chapters and elite quarterback talent.
The narrative change for this draft class was won by Philadelphia Eagles chief Super Bowl Lix over the heads of the Canasus City. Position groups promoted Phili’s victory – defensive end, defensive tackle and versatile defensive back – are the strength of 2025 drafts.
“This is a meat-and-potato draft,” said an NFL area Scout.
Which situation is the biggest question in groups?
The lack of discussion around the classroom reflects the number of quarterbacks at the top of the board. The Miami Quarterback Cam Ward is most seen as the top passer of the class, followed by Shedur Sanders of Colorado closely. But the scouts would not have given him a place among the top passers -by drafts in 2024.
A director of AFC Scouting said, “There is not a single man this year, which you will take six drafts (in the first round) last year.”
Although scouts are below the first round quarterbacks, they prefer depth in position. A scout said that he preferred the group better than 2021, surprising the five QB selected in the first round of that year, including each top three pics (Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson and Trai Lance).
It is also a down year for Elite Wide Receiver after a run of great classes, including game-changes such as Harrison, Justin Jefferson and Jamer Chase.
Travis Hunter (Colorado) will probably be a top-three pick, but teams are divided on their primary NFL status after playing broad receivers and cornerbacks in college. Many evaluator likes it in the corner, with the receiver being a secondary position, and the Hunter is listed as a corner in combination. If they are classified as a defensive player, it will greatly reduce the top-end strength of the receiver class.
Scouts are also torn on Tetaro McMillan (Arizona) and Luther Burden III (Missouri) due to questions about his deep pace. Round 1 may have five receiver drafts, but the top three of the last year are not seen as better possibilities as better possibilities than the top three Harrison, Malik Nabers and Rome Odunj.
Which situation groups are excited by scouts?
Running back class has a chance to be special, as six backs have a least second round grade in my pre-kombine rankings. There is also depth.
NFC West Area Scout said, “If you can’t make a start this year, you are not really trying,” said NFC West Area Scout. “Rounds 5, 6 and 7. will start out from.”
The Bis State’s Ashton Jeanty is led and has the first round grade, but the teams have Quinshon Judkins of Ohio State and Traven Henderson, Kaleb Johnson of Iowa, Omarian Hepton of North Carolina and Dialon Sampson of Tenasi Will get the beginning in. This year’s draft is a good chance, which will be reduced to seven rounds in 1994 (30 was drafted in 1998 and 2017) since the most running back will be the facility.
It is also another strong year for tight loops. According to NFL Scouts, Tyler Warren (Pen State) and Coloston Lavland (Michigan) are seen as top -15 players. The depth is strong behind them, a good shot of being selected until the end of day 2 with seven and tight ends.
AFC South Area Scout said, “This 2023 is not good, but this tight end class is stronger than last year or 2022.”
And finally, the defensive line group should be appreciated. Pen State Age Abdul Carter anchored the class, followed by Michigan Defense Mason Graham and Georgia Age Jalone Walker. My top 100 has 31 defensive linemen – most of me I have done in that group.
An General Manager of an NFL said that “one -third of the first round can be an edge rush and defensive tackle.”
Is there a class Comp recently for the 2025 group?
With more than 20 years of experience, AFC North Scout said, “It reminds me of two quarterbacks at the top in the first round of 2015 and then is a group of solid players.”
In the 2015 draft, Jemis Winston and Marcus Maroca were shown as the first two pics, but five future Pro Baouler was drafted in the top 10. This comparison can be very pessimistic, however.
The 2016 draft can be the best COMP. Quarterback Jreddom Goff and Carson Ventz came out of the board at the top, but the rest of the top 10 dominated the trenches with Joy Bosa (No. 3), Ronnie Stanley (No. 6), Defrerest Bakr (No. 7). , Jack Conclin (No. 8) and Leonard Floid (No. 9). A star running back draft high (at EJICL Elliot No. 4) was also shown in the 2016 class, which can be mirrors in this draft if the genet goes into the top 10.
A director of NFC Scouting said, “This category may not have superstar quarterbacks, but at the end of the day, it will have a more (long -term) beginning than 2021 or 2022 (each).”
